We aim to ensure that individuals with I/DD receive the support they need in a compassionate and empowering environment. Here’s what to consider when determining if FSU is the best option for your client:

Age
Requirement

FSU provides services for adults with I/DD aged 18 and older. Our programs are designed to meet the unique needs of this age group, focusing on skills, independence, and meaningful community connections.

Eligibility for Services

We work with individuals with a range of support needs and behavioral challenges. While we strive to accommodate diverse cases, certain situations (e.g., extensive history of property destruction) may not be a good fit for our programs.

Care Services Offered

Our offerings include Residential Care, Day Programs, Behavioral Support, and Short-Term Respite Care, with a focus on skill development, social integration, and overall well-being.

Location of Facilities

Our main facility is located in Penn Hills, and we have residential care homes in Point Breeze, Penn Hills, and Leechburg. These locations provide convenient access for individuals living in and around the greater Pittsburgh area.

Family Services United accepts a variety of waivers to help ensure that services are accessible to those who need them. We currently accept:

  • Community Living Waiver
  • Person/Family Directed Support (P/FDS) Waiver
  • Consolidated Waiver

If you believe your client would be a good fit for FSU, we invite you to submit a Client Inquiry to initiate the process. Please fill out the Client Inquiry Form, and our team will review the information promptly. We aim to respond to all inquiries within 48 hours.
